How Does Palantir Report Earnings?
Not affiliated with Palantir Technologies Inc. This page explains the mechanics and cadence of Palantir's earnings reporting — see our separate page on why Palantir's stock is so volatile for the underlying causes of big post-earnings price moves.
Palantir reports financial results on a predictable quarterly schedule, but the format and sequence of what gets released — and when — matters if you're trying to actually follow along rather than just catching headlines after the fact.
The reporting sequence
Palantir's fiscal year runs on a standard calendar-year basis, ending December 31. Quarterly results are announced in four stages, in order: first, an 8-K filing with an attached press release containing the headline financial results (revenue, profit, guidance) — this is what most news coverage is based on; then an earnings call and webcast, where management discusses results and answers analyst questions live; then a more detailed investor presentation (a slide deck covering segment performance, key metrics, and guidance); and finally the fuller 10-Q or 10-K filing itself, which contains the complete financial statements and legal disclosures, typically filed within days of the initial release.
The CEO letter is a distinctive touch
Unlike most companies' fairly dry earnings releases, Palantir's quarterly announcements include a public letter from CEO Alex Karp, often written in a more personal, opinionated style than typical corporate financial communications — the kind of framing quoted in press coverage of Palantir's results (for example, Karp's description of a "sovereign AI revolution" accompanying the Q2 2026 release) is often as widely quoted as the numbers themselves.
A recent pattern of beats
Throughout 2025 and 2026, Palantir's reported results have consistently exceeded Wall Street's own consensus estimates going into each release — the Q2 2026 report, for instance, showed revenue of $1.94 billion against analyst estimates of $1.81 billion, and adjusted earnings of $0.41 per share against expectations of $0.34–$0.35. This pattern of beating expectations, combined with raised forward guidance after several consecutive quarters, has been a recurring driver of the stock's post-earnings moves, discussed further on our volatility page.
Guidance updates matter as much as the quarter itself
Alongside each quarter's actual results, Palantir issues forward guidance — its own projection for the upcoming quarter and, at certain points in the year, the full fiscal year. Following its Q2 2026 report, for example, Palantir raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range implying roughly 82% annual growth and lifted its U.S. commercial growth guidance to 134%. Analysts and investors often react as much to a guidance raise or cut as to the historical quarter's actual numbers, since guidance is the company's own signal about what to expect next.
Where to actually watch a release happen
Palantir's earnings releases, presentations, and call recordings are all published directly on the company's investor relations site, alongside SEC filings — the same primary sources used throughout this page and our related financial-statements and key-metrics pages, rather than relying on secondhand summaries after the fact.
